DreamGlyph Studios LLC ("we", "our", "us") operates the Be Not Afraid desktop application and web application (collectively, the "Service"). This policy covers the Service specifically — for the DreamGlyph Studios website itself, see our site privacy policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
An account is optional. Reading Scripture, searching, and using commentary and the lexicon all work without signing in. If you create an account (email address and password, or a one-time emailed code), we use it only to sync your notes and highlights across devices.
Notes & Highlights
Notes and highlights you create are stored locally on your device. If you're signed in, they also sync to our database (Supabase), linked to your account and the specific verse they're attached to, so they're available on your other devices.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Service — authenticate you and sync your notes/highlights across your devices.
We do not use your notes, highlights, or reading activity for advertising, and we don't sell any data.
3. Third-Party Services

4. Data Storage & Security
- All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS.
- Database rows are protected by row-level security — your notes and highlights are only ever readable by your own account.
- Core reading and search work fully offline; only account sync requires a connection.
5. Data Retention
Notes and highlights are retained as long as your account is active. Delete a note or highlight and it's removed from both your device and our database. To delete your account entirely, contact us.
6. Your Rights
- Access — view all your notes and highlights within the app at any time.
- Deletion — delete individual notes/highlights anytime, or contact us to delete your account and all associated data.
7. Children's Privacy
Be Not Afraid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above.
