Shared Notes, Without the Overwrite

NotePassing is real-time collaborative note-taking for small groups — family lists, roommate chores, trip planning — with checklists, offline support, and role-based access per group. Two people typing in the same paragraph merge character by character rather than one silently clobbering the other.

How It Works

• CRDT-based sync — every note is a conflict-free document, so edits from multiple people (or a phone that was offline for a day) always merge cleanly
• Groups & roles — viewer, member, admin, and owner permissions enforced at the database level, not just the client
• QR and link invites — three ways to join a group: scan, paste a link, or tap a deep link, with the access level shown before you commit
• Attribution, not audit — see who wrote what, with a colored initial per member and a brief highlight on recent remote edits
• Offline-first — unsent edits live in a local outbox and survive a force-quit, replaying automatically on reconnect

Status

Collaborative editing, groups, roles, and QR invites all work today. Still to come: subscription billing, Sign in with Apple and Google, and iPad-specific polish (keyboard shortcuts, Stage Manager support).
